GIORGIO SANTISI
Giorgio Santisi (bass player) was born in Naples (Italy) where he began to play bass with several Jazz, Funky, Blues, Rock and Soul bands, showing his ability to move easily between many different music styles. In the same period he played bass on tour with Italian singers Gianni Nazzaro, Sal da Vinci, Rosanna Fratello. In 1999 he moved from Naples to Bologna , where he started to cooperate with the rock singer Pia Tuccitto. As bass player in Pia's band, he played in the most important italian stadiums in front of thousands people as a supporter of the famous italian rock star Vasco Rossi from 2003 to 2008. He played also twice at Heineken Jammin' Festival , the most known international rock event in Italy and one of the most important in Europe.(2000 and 2005 editions). In Bologna Giorgio works as an appreciated session man and from 1999 till now he has cooperated with several bands and artists such as Barbara Cola, Daniele Battaglia, Dennis Fantina, Federico Poggipollini He played bass on a song in the CD “Dos Vias” by Gianni Guarracino, where artists like Paco de Lucia and Frank Gambale also played. He appears in CD recordings by Pia Tuccitto, Giò di Sarno, Mauro Levrini, Bo.Dà. , Manuel Auteri, Gos, Esteban Diaz. Besides his activity as a session man, Giorgio plays his own music with his trio GOS. The band is now promoting their first CD in which appears as a guest also Stef Burns, an important american guitarist that has played with artists such as Sheila E. , Berlin, Micheal Bolton, Alice Cooper and many others.
